Item #1008 - Unusual Vintage Metal & Bakelite Box with SIX IGs!!!!

Lid detail

Here is a gorgeous unusual oblong box made of a metal top over a bakelite compartmentalized box

with a dark plastic reinforced bottom.

Bakelite was an early form of plastic that was popular during the 1940s and 50s.

Bakelite items are usually very expensive in antique stores.

On the lid are six beautifully colored enamel IGs.

There is the suggestion of raised relief outlines. The dogs are jumping a fence.

The box opens and closes via 3 intact hinges.

Inside the box are 3 compartments.

Measurements are: 2.7" x 9" x 1.3: H.

Aside from some signs of wear on the lid...this box is in excellent condition.

It is a rare and lovely IG related collectable!
