Item #1015 - Wood Framed IG Portrait Antique c1880 England SOLID Wood Back

Here is a very old print of an 18th century family gathering including an artist at work. In the foreground is an exquisite Italian Greyhound. The portrait is protected under glass. It is framed in solid wood.

On the back is a heavy antique solid wood board. There is a wire for easy hanging still in place.

Measurements are: 10.5" x 13".

There are several signs of wear on the frame which look like they might be repaired fairly easily. There are also a couple of small signs of wear on the actual fragile old print...which is pretty amazing considering the age.

I was told that the print (which appears to be a colored engraving) was made somewhere between 1850 and 1880 in England. This portrait was found in an estate sale. It is extremely rare.
